Vases & Vessels

Let your creativity shine and add faux or real blooms to brighten your space. Decorative vases are the ideal addition to bring attention to key furniture pieces, or it works as art! Don't limit yourself to a vase on a dining table. These pieces work well on a TV console or a bookshelf, drawing the eye to different textures. If you like a calmer, more grounded look, ceramic vases add a matte texture that pairs well with wood, stone, and linen. Want something clean and flexible? A white ceramic vase plays nicely with any palette and lets greenery or dried stems take centre stage. Mix one sculptural shape with one simple form, and you’ve got an instant focal point.

Choosing the right vase for your sideboard or mantelpiece comes down to proportion. The vase should complement the furniture without overpowering it, while leaving enough room for other decorative pieces.

For a Sideboard

A vase that is 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) tall works well on most sideboards.

• Choose a vase that is around one-third the height of the wall space or artwork above it.
• Pair it with books, candles or smaller decorative objects for a balanced display.
• If your sideboard is long, consider styling a group of two or three vases in varying heights.

For a Mantelpiece

A vase between 10–16 inches (25–40 cm) tall is ideal for most mantelpieces.

• Ensure the arrangement doesn't block artwork, mirrors or televisions above the mantel.
• Tall, narrow vases create an elegant look, while wider ceramic vases add a more contemporary feel.
• Style the vase slightly off-centre and balance it with candlesticks, framed art or sculptural décor.

Whether you're decorating with fresh flowers, dried stems or displaying the vase on its own, choosing the right proportions will help create a cohesive and stylish living space.
